A podcast hosted by Mitch Williams and Sam McGhee, of Inland Film Co., creators of the #DAILYREEL. Mitch and Sam discuss small shop filmmaking, commercial and documentary work, storytelling, and more. This is a special installment. Mitch was honored to be invited to present in front of Leonard Oakland’s Documentary Filmmaking class at Whitworth University, and Sam joined and filmed the presentation. This episode is the audio recording of that presentation. Mitch discusses two documentary filmmaking and shares two documentary shorts, produced by Inland Film Co., which he played in front of the class. The first documentary short shown was “A Voice Made of Music”, a film about a man who speaks by typing in Morse code with his feet, produced for The Arc of Spokane. The second documentary short is called, “Gracie”, an emotional and miraculous story about a young woman named Gracie who was forced to grow up too fast on September 13th, 2017, when she was shot in the hallway of her school, produced for Children’s Miracle Network and Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. The class asks Mitch questions about documentary filmmaking and he provides answers, and shares practices and techniques used at Inland Film Co.
