Meditation has been shown time and time again to be incredibly beneficial. Evidence is telling us that meditation can help with mood, sleep, stress, and improve focus at work. There is even some preliminary evidence stating that it can help with anxiety & depression. People have been practicing meditation for thousands and thousands of years and there can only be one reason for that: it works. Up until a few months ago, I thought that meditation was the act of wiping your mind of all thoughts. I now realize that this isn’t the case. For me, RuPaul puts it best. Meditation is about focusing on your breath. When a thought comes to mind, acknowledge it, thank it for its presence and then move on.  While there are a TON of benefits to meditation, this episode focuses on three: stress, sleep & focus. This is where I have seen the most bang for my buck in the short while that I have been meditating, especially in the sleep department.
