Business

After Beth had her kids, she tried to go back to work in the corporate world. She realized that to be happy, she needed to be creative and paint, so she quit her job and sacrificed a little, so she could do what she loves. Beth’s passion for painting reached a whole new level when she decided to do some face painting at a local festival. She was testing the waters and really just wanted to make her money back, but she ended up having so many people lined up to have their faces painted, that her husband had to start taking reservations. Beth talks about how face painting has become a huge competition around the world. There are tons of great tutorials on how to get started and she talks about how important it is to have professional grade paints. Most of Beth’s business comes from word of mouth and social media. She does a lot of corporate events and employee parties that are booked in advance. When she isn’t face painting, she does pet portraits and mini murals. Beth talks about building her business in layers. Meaning, she chose the thing she could start the quickest and cheapest (so she could just start making some money) and then she added on more and more services from there.
