How to Stop Spam and Increase Leads Part Two Anyone that's just tuned in, it'd be probably sensible to jump back an episode to hear what we're talking about and this to be super relevant. So you've decided that you've got too much spam, and now you want to get rid of it. You haven't just started up your business, you've made a few mistakes, and you want to make sure that you're able to overcome those issues. We've got some good news and some bad news. As You Become More Successful More Spam Will Come The good news is, the bigger your company becomes the more spam you're going to get. It's just inevitable. As more and more people know about you, you're going to get more haters. Thats just how it goes and it has been like that for years. Know that if you're getting more spam, you're making more traction and you're making more waves. If the spammers are seeing you, it means that everyone else is seeing you as well. Your message might just need to be critiqued, massaged a little bit, to make it a bit more relevant. That though, is not going to get rid of your spam. To get rid of an inbox that is already inundated with spam because your email's already been taken, harvested, and sold off to possibly dozens or hundreds of other places, which will then turn to hundreds and thousands of other places until you just open up your inbox and every morning got 300 offers of enlargements, Russian brides, or both if you're lucky. You'll have the weapon and something to do with it. Chance Your Email Address Anyway, if that's the situation and you're trying to overcome that the best bet, you're not going to like hearing this, but the best bet is just to change the email address. If you're using info at whatever your company name is dot com, then you change that to inquiries. If you're using inquiries, change it to questions. If you've already cycled through to, I'm sure you can find something else. You can be creative with it, don't stick yourself in a hole. There's always enough ways you can just change the email address. That's something that doesn't cost you anything except clients that already know it. Consider An ATP Service If you're in that spot then what you need to do is look at what is called an ATP service. Now, an ATP service, standing for advanced threat protection, can remove email spam. The way that it works is kind of like anthrax. If you're receiving something in the post and you don't know what it is, and then you open it up and you get this stuff on your hands, it's too late. It's too late, the damage is done. When you have these viruses, and bits and pieces being sent into your network, and then you're having your antivirus protect them, it's kind of like being at a brothel, wearing a condom, crossing your fingers, and hoping for the best. It doesn't always work out. Things break, and you don't want them to. That can be life changing, and I think we can all gather the parallels I'm eluding to here. If you're able to stop the whole situation from occurring, divert the risk, and have it somewhere else, that is what ATP does. ATP simply, advanced threat protection, grabs your emails before they get to you. They sort of run them through the dishwasher, they have a bit of a look, scrub them clean, and then shoot them off to you. If they think some are a little bit dubious, they go, "Hmm. We'll hold these for a few hours, and then send you an email telling you about them that you can then click through and release them if you think that they're important." ATP = More Security It's an incredibly valuable tool. One of the other things that they do is that they look intelligently, using AI, at how many emails of the same kind have been sent. So I'm sure everyone has received one of those "you've been hacked" emails. What this would have done if you had this in front of your business, is it would have gone, "Hmm, 10,000 people have just received a very, very similar email talking about looking at naughty, naughty things, and here's your password." It would go, "That doesn't sound right. We're not going to have people see this, we're going to block that out. Then we're going to tell them this is in quarantine," of if there was a virus attached, not even release it. It just means that you've got an extra level of security. It's like an airlock before you get into your business. You know that things are going to be quarantined and protected. There's always things and ways that people can get through, but this is definitely something that will help you through that situation. So, using ATP would mean that if you've got an existing email account, you can't change it, you don't want clients to be affected and have to learn a new email address, this would be the way that you'd go about doing it. This would be a better than nothing solution. You put that on all your email addresses. The Final Word So by following these few instructions, we should be in a spot now that you're current inbox, whether it be the global one that was on your website, has now been removed. You've got people contacting you through a form, which is awesome. Now you've got more quality information, and you've got less spam, less viruses. You're now at a lesser risk for anything occurring on your network and within your business. If you've been listening to this, you've been able to gain all that knowledge between the two episodes in only about 15 minutes. I hope you've enjoyed this.
