He lived in the Middle East during several of his formative years, eventually moving back to the U.S. to get his M.F.A. from California Institute of the Arts in music composition and vocal performance. As a composer, his forward-thinking electronic scores for choreographers have been performed all over the world. Switching effortlessly from postminimalist chamber compositions to fronting his band Madapple, Paul has been able to carve out a niche in the exciting Los Angeles contemporary art scene. In addition to dabbling in musical, dramatic, and improvisational theater, Paul also runs a YouTube channel in which he sings covers and originals, often in one take using a Boss loop station. He is a beatboxer as well as an experimental opera singer and band frontman.
