He does so with the zeal of the Lord, (i.e. to disdain what God disdains, in favor of righteousness) and God commends him and gives him a covenant of salome. Perhaps we need to revisit our understanding of what salome is and how it applies to our life today. Afterall, it is part of the Beatitudes and the fruits of the spirit. Jesus made a covenant of salome with us in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
