Offseason Champions - Washington Redskins

Miscellaneous

Oh Happy Days… the Washington Redskins capitalize on the energy of their new interim Head Coach, Bill Callahan, and get their first W on the year… breaking their five game losing streak against the Miami Dolphins. Despite the Dolphins being one of the worst teams in the NFL this year, they played a good game and kept it close until the very end. But the Redskins hung on and got their first Win of the Bill Callahan era, bringing their season record to 1-5… the new coach stuck to his promise and did not get away from the run game, finally getting Adrian Peterson his first 100 yard game of the year. On top of Peterson, Terry McLaurin had another fantastic game racking up two touchdowns and 100 yards receiving of his own… unfortunately that was really it for the offense, in a game that should have been a breakout for several more players, everyone else came out kind of flat. Luckily our defense started strong and stayed consistent throughout to help ensure the win late in the game… our front seven put pressure on Josh Rosen early and often, so much so, that the Dolphins were forced to yank him and put in Ryan Fitzpatrick to spark their offense… It came down to the wire, but the Redskins got the job done and Won their first game of the 2019 season… In Episode Eighteen, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins sixth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Miami Dolphins.. I review the game overall, Case Keenum’s rough start and just how bad he looked despite Terry McLaurin bailing him out several times, I discuss the highly anticipated run game and Adrian Peterson’s big day, and the Defense coming out strong and finally staying consistently good through halftime… I take a deep dive into the reports that Dan Snyder is targeting Mike Tomlin and that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get him, not only paying him a top salary but relinquishing authority to him completely… I also discuss how this acknowledgement may finally mean that Snyder has identified himself and Bruce Allen as the problem and allowing a coach (or GM) to come in and take over control of football operations to finally become successful… Whether it be Tomlin or someone else, the mere acknowledgement is very interesting and should be something to keep and eye on as the coaching search continues. And in a shock to no one, I mention Trent Williams, however, it was only in regards to being a perfect trade asset to lure Tomlin away from the Steelers organization… And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week seven game against the San Francisco 49ers (guess who’s unrealistically optimistic again)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Six Win, against the Miami Dolphins… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really goes a long way in getting this podcast to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/offseasonchampions/message
