Offseason Champions - Washington Redskins

Miscellaneous

Here we go again… the Washington Redskins have, yet another, poor showing in a Primetime Game losing their seventh game of the year… after a tough loss last week to the 49ers, the Redskins lose another close game to the Minnesota Vikings bringing their season record to 1-7… The defense played well and did their part early on keeping the game within reach. On top of that, early in the game Case Keenum and Adrian Peterson were both moving the ball quite well, unfortunately, Keenum got banged up before halftime and went out of the game and into Concussion Protocol, forcing the Rookie Dwayne Haskins to start under center in the second half. The rookie QB's lack of experience or preparedness for the situation ultimately proved to be too much for the offense to overcome and the Vikings pulled ahead and closed out the game 19-9… Despite struggling in this game, Haskins does not deserve all the blame, he is a rookie in this league and is on a team that has valued it's other quarterbacks over continuing to develop him… this is exactly what Haskins needs to progress, he desperately needs in-game experience and to be given the opportunity to play, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes week in and week out…     In Episode Twenty, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins eighth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Minnesota Vikings.. I review the game overall, Keenum and Peterson’s good start, Dwayne Haskins rough half, the defense's continued strong play (despite our record), Kirk Cousins' revenge game, the Vikings depth on offense and where the season goes from here… I take a deep dive into Dwayne Haskins development to date, and my opinions on what comes next for this team and the quarterback position... I touch on the looming trade deadline, and if I’ve learned anything from Bruce Allen’s tenure, this Front Office will not make any moves that will benefit the future of this franchise, despite our record and the amount of high priced veterans we have performing on a pedestrian level… And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week nine game against the Buffalo Bills… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Eight Loss, to the Minnesota Vikings… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really goes a long way in getting this podcast to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/offseasonchampions/message
