In June of 1990, the day after the longest day of the year, hikers discovered the lifeless body of 21 year old UCLA student Ron Baker. He was laying just inside south opening of the Santa Susana Tunnel which had also become known as the Manson Tunnel because of the close proximity Charles Manson and his family lived to it from 1968-1969. Because Ron was killed in the Manson Tunnel, on the longest day of the year, and his throat being slit as well as his new found interest in Wicca, rumors of this being a ritualistic Satanic killing dominated the headlines. Afterall, Los Angeles was just a few years removed from the Satanic Panic-fueled McMartin Preschool Abuse and Satan-worshipping serial killer Richard Ramirez cases. But, it would turn out to be a killing much closer to home, but not any less dark or evil.
