Learn how to navigate crises in an emotionally healthy way I was so delighted to meet Dr. Elia Gourgouris and Konstantinos Apostolopoulos that I wanted to share them with you on our podcast. These are two amazing men. They are both of Greek backgrounds and, as you may know, I did my doctoral research on Greek immigrants and Greek culture. To say we had a lot in common is an understatement. What did we talk about? The pandemic, of course, and the new book they wrote in 45 days. That’s right. They decided they had wisdom to share that could help guide people through the COVID-19 crisis, so they put their heads down and made it happen. There are so many great lessons here for all of us. Listen in! "Points to Ponder", "Questions to Consider" and "Action Items" In our podcast, Dr. Elia, Konstantinos (Kon) and I focused on their "guidebook," which sounds rather funny referring to such a horrible disease ravaging our country and the world. Called "7 Keys to Navigating a Crisis: A Practical Guide to Emotionally Dealing with Pandemics & Other Disasters," this book is essential reading for everyone if they are going to emerge emotionally sound from the chaos of this crisis. Dr. Elia has been speaking, virtually, to audiences around the globe about the powerful yet practical insights contained in the book. At the same time, Kon has been coaching individuals and groups to help them cope with the stress of remote work, as well as the isolation, fear and anxiety that come with the lack of certainty and clarity. Two men doing good work. In our discussion, the three of us talk at length about how to minimize the negative impact of pandemics, natural disasters, financial meltdowns or any other major disruptions on our lives. Drawing from their personal and professional experiences, Dr. Elia and Kon share with us simple truths that have helped many of their clients thrive in the face of adversity. After listening to this podcast, you will have learned ways to take charge and lead yourself and others forward.  About Dr. Elia and Kon Dr. Elia Gourgouris is the Founder of The Happiness Center, a project of the Art of Living Foundation, an organization of leading experts in the field of positive psychology that has helped thousands of individuals achieve personal and professional happiness, success and wellness.
