Tomahawk Nation: for Florida State Seminoles fans

Miscellaneous

Despite the off-season coming much sooner than expected, there is still plenty of FSU news to go around. Devin Vassell was the first to announce that he was going pro, and soon after that Patrick Williams joined in. Technically, Williams could return, though we don't expect that to happen. We talk about the career trajectories of those two, and compare them to recent early jumps to the NBA such as Malik Beasley, Jonathan Isaac, and Mfiondu Kabengele. It should also be noted that this will be back to back drafts (Fi and Devin) where a non-blue chip recruit from FSU gets drafted in the 1st round of the NBA draft. While that is remarkable scouting by the Florida State staff, is it sustainable? How does it compare to Virginia's roster building, for example? The departure of those two leaves three open scholarships on the roster. We discuss what skill sets we'd like to see recruited to FSU, and what skill sets we expect to see. We also jump ahead to the 2020-21 season, and look at where Florida State might slot into the ACC.
