The Apostle appeals to the church members that are not working, causing scandals and living off of other members of the church. It appears the Thessalonians originally thought Jesus was coming back so soon they saw no reason to keep their jobs. The Apostle Paul lived very differently among them, working hard and providing for his own needs.
