In todays Ibiza Unlocked podcast, Howard Boyle meets the man behind the idea for Ibiza – The Silent Movie - Malcolm Gerrie. After 30-plus years in the industry there isn't a genre of programming that Malcolm has not been involved with be it prime time entertainment, scripted, arts, music, kids, documentaries, events, 3D, comedy or digital content. Famed for his pioneering programming, Malcolm created the now legendary live music entertainment show ‘The Tube’ for Channel 4. Music is one of Malcolm’s greatest passions and he also took over producing ‘The Brits’ for eight years and transformed it into one of the biggest global awards ceremonies. So it seemed only fitting for him to bring his brainchild to the bring screen with Ibiza through the years as its focus. In this episode Howard gets under the skin of the production that also features original footage which was shot on location around the island, plus previously unseen archive material immersed in music from and inspired by Ibiza and its residents.
