Sometimes as Christians we struggle - we know that we belong to Christ, yet we know that we don't 100% live up to how He has called us to live. It will help us to remember that there are 2 aspects to our salvation. He SAVED us when we believed in what Christ did for us on the cross. And now that we belong to Him, He is TRANSFORMING us from the inside out. Every day that we learn to obey Him is a day that we resemble Him a little bit more. ---------------------------------- SCRIPTURE REFERENCES ---------------------------------- THE COMPLETED WORK 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone the new is here! Ephesians 2:6-8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.  For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.   THE ONGOING WORK Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—is good, pleasing and perfect will.   2 Peter 1:5-10 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   Galatians 6:1: So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
