Shannon is back! But she's still not feeling well, and she's experiencing barriers navigating the medical system while battling her own gall bladder. We discuss the stressors in trying to get well in the time of COVID-19, as well as the biases that doctors tend to have surrounding race, gender and body type. We also dive more deeply into the recent 'flu klux klan' rallies against Governor Newsom's stay-at-home mandate, comprised of Trump loyalists, anti-vaxxers and a petite bourgeoisie eager to put their employees in harm's way in order to start making them money again. These rallies increasingly carry a tenor of animus. Down in Huntington Beach, one demonstrator allegedly held a TV cameraman at knifepoint, forcing him to delete footage of him. On this week's Capitol Weekly Podcast, Sacramento documentarian Karlos Rene Ayala discusses how a group of Proud Boys hassled him at Monday's rally. Thanks to community pressure, the California Highway Patrol may no longer be giving out permits for events like this, but something tells us this isn't the last we'll be hearing from these people.
