Lawyers on the Rocks podcast

Miscellaneous

Frederick S. Barrett, Ph.D.  stays on to chat for a second episode.  Fred is way, way out of the lawyers league, and hopefully the guys will be able to keep up.  Here's a snippet of his bio: Frederick Barrett is a cognitive neuroscientist with training in behavioral pharmacology. He uses music and pharmacological interventions, along with behavioral measures, computerized testing, and brain imaging techniques, to explore the neural basis of emotional functioning and altered states of consciousness. His research focuses on the acute and long-term effects of psychedelics on cognition, emotion, and brain function. He received an NIH “R03” grant as Principal Investigator to investigate biological mechanisms of psilocybin effects, the first federally funded research since the 1970s administering a classic psychedelic to people with psychedelic effects as the primary focus. You can read some of Fred's research at these links: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=KCtXPmAAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0163725818302158?via%3Dihub http://www.prati.org.il/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/news1_music.pdf https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0028390818302296 The guys are sampling Second Glance Barrel Select American Whiskey produced by master vintner Dave Phinney of Savage & Cooke Distillery in Vallejo, CA.  It's an interesting and uniquely California take on Whiskey. On the schedule for the episode the guys cover the following topics: Clown Brawl: A member of one of the groups dressed as a clown to a British cruise ship dinner that specifically banned wearing costumes. "This upset one of their party because they'd specifically booked a cruise with no fancy dress. It led to a violent confrontation." Furniture and silverware found new purposes as weapons, and a lot of blood was spilled on this bloody hell of a cruise. (ht: George the law clerk) Legal ethics: Case Running, illegal kickbacks, and personal injury law. Funny?  Or Not?  Councilman sees DPW workers illegally dumping. The guys end up continuing the conversation about Fred's research! Lawyers on the Rocks features Jeremy Eldridge, Kurt Nachtman and Adam Crandell. This triumvirate of lawyers will give you their unsolicited opinion on everything legal and illegal, while enjoying a handcrafted cocktail. Lawyers on the Rocks is sponsored by the Law Office of Eldridge, Nachtman & Crandell, LLC and produced Gideon of Up Next Creative, LLC.
