"There were a lot of people in the Civil Rights movement who did things that were so important to move the country forward who were not in the South." - Lisa Braxton Lisa Braxton is an Emmy-nominated former television journalist, a former newspaper reporter, an essayist, short story writer and author of THE TALKING DRUM. She received honorable mention in Writer’s Digest magazine’s 84th and 86th writing contests in the inspirational category and was a finalist in the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition.
