Creative Guts is back with another Creative Guts Zine! The fall 2021 Zine will feature the work of visual artists and writers who have been selected by jury. This time we’re looking for pieces that adhere to the theme of nostalgia. Inspired, in part by a recent interview with the wonderful, talented digital illustrator Jake Romano, the Creative Guts team is feeling nostalgic. Defined as "a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period of place with happy personal associations”, the possibilities are endless with a theme like nostalgia. Submissions are due by 11:59 PM eastern standard time on Sunday, October 24th from artists 18 years and older, from anywhere in the world. We welcome a variety of visual and written works in any medium including painting, sculpture, digital art, printmaking, fiber, photography, mixed media, poetry, and short stories. The Creative Guts team will be joined by guest juror Mike Durkee, the artist and owner of Durkish Delights Design Co. and member of Creative Guts' Board of Directors. Submission to the Zine is free, however there is a $15 printing and shipping fee if your work is chosen. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid through our website. Each creative featured in the Zine will receive one copy.
