Christianity in Business

Business

On this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Peter Heslam. Peter is Director of Faith in Business at Westminster College; a Fellow of the Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology in Cambridge; a Research Associate of the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide; and a Doctoral Supervisor at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. Previously he was Director of Transforming Business, a research and development project at the University of Cambridge focused on the interface of business, faith, and development. Peter's focus is on the moral and spiritual dimensions of entrepreneurial business and their role in business performance and human development. He is particularly interested in the social impact of Christianity and entrepreneurship when they converge. Much of Peter's work is inspired and informed by his secondary research focus: the ideas of the great statesman, thinker, and social entrepreneur Abraham Kuyper (1837-1920), whose influence continues to grow around the world. He’s the editor of the new book, Abraham Kuyper on Business and Economics. www.Faithinbusiness.org     Lessons explored in this episode: Who was Abraham Kuyper, and why should Christian business professionals know about him? How do the concepts of “common grace” and the “antithesis” relate to business? What implications does the commandment “thou shalt not steal” have for property rights? Christianity in Business is the show that helps Christian business leaders to integrate biblical values into business. | Entrepreneurship | Marketing | Nonprofit | Church | Author | Startups | Marketplace | Ministry | Business as Mission | Faith and Work | Faith | Success | Leadership | www.ChristianityInBusiness.com
