Having lost control of their lives, Adventure Boys and self-proclaimed idiots, Conor & Oisín, attempt to comfort themselves by reading children books and choosing their own adventure. The boys have chosen their next adventure and Oisín will be reading to Conor who’s investigating the Secret of the Ninja! This time the Boys find themselves in modern Japan, before swiftly traveling back in time to feudal Japan in order to fight the weather. Or something like that. The Boys absolutely tear through this story about the nice boy who learnt about Akido, and other Japanese nouns, and along the way meet a nice girl who is named after the rough, open, part of the sea where navigation is difficult. They learn so so many new and unnecessary Japanese words, become deeply confused about the plot of the book, accomplish nothing and find no answers, only more questions. Questions like: Why does the Author have a thing for fists? What is the difference between meditation, hypnotism and trace? Why did we steal a sword we already own?
