The Hornets returned to the field in 2021 and had a typical Alabama State season, they finished 3-3. They did find their future at quarterback in Ryan Nettles and Ezra Gray had a huge game on TV against Jackson State. Their defense kept them in games but their lack of consistency on offense and special teams kept them from taking the next step.
