Middle Tennessee is under a severe shortage of blood. Sherri McKinney with the American Red Cross says that means not only elective surgeries are being postponed, but some emergencies and life-saving surgeries may be affected because there's not enough blood! Blood needs are up because of summertime traumas and emergencies, but supplies are DRASTICALLY down! The supply is down because donors are on vacation, they're staying in because of COVID-19 fears, or they don't realize they can get in and out quickly.
