Something we all hear quite a lot these days is people saying “I’ve come from nothing...” and invariably then when you drill into it a little more, it doesn’t quite transpire that way. Well imagine being homeless and living on the street. Waiting on your older brother to call - who has emigrated, is working on a pig farm to earn enough money to bring you to Ireland in search of a better life. That in itself would be a story - when you add a successful amateur boxing career which saw you travel and box all around the world.
