Israel lay at the bridge of the then known world, between east and west, between Europe and Asia. From the east was birthed the idea of a god infinitely powerful but not personal. The west introduced gods personal but now infinite. In the middle, God planted His people to bear witness to the true God—infinite and personal.The great witness of God's infinite and personal nature was first Israel and then the fulfillment of Israel, Jesus Christ. It was on this particular Sunday that the church has traditionally celebrated Palm Sunday or the Sunday Jesus came riding into Jerusalem.
