This week on The Exchange, as students, teachers and parents prepare to go back to school after nearly six months interruption becuase of the Coronavirus, we talk with Sioux City Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Paul Gausman. Gausman talks about how the schools will stay safe, and part of that strategy is requiring face masks for everyone. He also discusses contingency plans if the virus does ramp up in Woodbury County. Some students will learn virtually from home. Also today, we remember philanthropist, businessman and Sioux City booster Irving Jensen, Jr., who died last week at the age of 88. And how the Sustaiable Iowa Land Trust is encouraging new farmers and the use of land close to communities to provide fresh food. We will talk with SILT Excutive Director Suzan Erem about how the program works and how it benefits Iowans and the environment. We also hear from Jim Schaap, who has a new Small Wonder. It is an apprection of bluestem grass on the prairie.
