Miscellaneous

It’s a lovely Friday afternoon here in Edmonton and that means a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio is here, edited into a masterpiece, and ready to massage your ear feelings as you head into the weekend. This week, we looked at Kyle Turris' struggles, the Battle of Alberta weekend, and a lot more. Kicking off the episode, we got started with a look at this weekend's back-to-back set against the Calgary Flames, specifically the biggest keys to victory over those two games. Is it goaltending? Is it the special teams battle? Something else we haven't even thought about? Changing gears a little bit, we tried to make sense of what's going on with Kyle Turris so far this season. The veteran centremen will be a healthy scratch on Friday night against the Flames so we spent a few minutes trying to figure out what's going wrong and whether or not he can work his way out of this hole he's in. We also looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' potential extension with the Oilers after news broke that he and the team have not discussed a new deal since the offseason, prompting the fanbase to split in regards to how the team should handle this player. Personally, I think it would be foolish to move him unless his contract ask is unreasonable so I went on a quick rant about what he means to the team and why it doesn't make sense to move him. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's show with a look at some of the ups and downs from the past seven days before making some predictions on how this weekend will shake out.
