Paul encourages Timothy to be strong, like his mom and grandmother, to guard his trust in Christ Jesus. He told him to rekindled his gift that was by the laying of hands. Don't be ashamed of the gospel, or of him, Paul, who was in chains. Paul reminded Timothy some had fallen away from the faith. He said all that were in Asia, turned away. If we die in Christ, we will live in Him. Some who had fallen away and said that Christ didn't raise from the dead and was upsetting some with these false teachings. He reminded Timothy and the fellow believers, not to be quarrelsome and unkind.
