Mark continues our study in The Beatitudes looking at "Blessed are those who mourn..." Why are the Beatitudes important? The Beatitudes are important because they describe the characteristics of those of us who have given our allegiance to Jesus as our King. So, if you're a follower of Jesus then Jesus is your King, and if He's your King then the Beatitudes should describe you or at least describe your desires. Why else are the Beatitudes important? Because the world is watching those of us who say Jesus is our King. The In the Beatitudes we see our response to a culture that’s watching to see if this Jesus we follow really makes a difference.
