Ben Pickersgill is a Brighton based music producer and DJ and part of drum and bass outfit Klax. We talk about Ben’s beginnings in finding the music that combined the things he loved, paying dues with years of producing his own stuff, the benefits and challenges of making music as part of a collective and what it takes to collaborate in a useful way, mental health in music and the pressures of staying productive and keeping up with a quickly evolving scene, the stand out moment of being picked to remix David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ and the lessons learned from playing a DJ set in Bristol which made 1000 people go quiet.
