Bonus Episode - Noadiah

Have you ever questioned God’s judgement? Why has He allowed you to go through so much? What if God is putting you right where you need to be in order to do a mighty work through you? In today’s episode of All God’s Women we look at Esther, a perfect example of God at work behind the scenes in ways we may never understand.Did you have dreams and visions of your future that have been stolen from you? Have you been denied the life you expected to have? How are you  handling it? 2020 was unfair. You suffered, and you’re making sure everyone knows. But what if, instead of fighting what you can’t control, you accepted it and made the best of it? The book of Esther is unique in that God is never mentioned. And yet, He’s there, throughout the pages, working quietly behind the scenes, taking horrid situations and using them for His glory. He’s doing the same today. We may not like where we are right now, but who’s to say that He’s not been preparing you for such a time as this, so that you might be used as an instrument of light in a world of darkness? 

Esther - For Such a Time as This

Submission, what does it mean to you? Do you always submit to your husband or to those in authority? Why might you not submit to them?In today’s episode of All God’s Woman, we look at Queen Vashti, a woman who openly defied her husband, and as a result was banished from her royal position. Have you ever taken a stand for what’s right and been punished as a result? As we kick off a new year, it’s a good time to reflect on your priorities. Where do your priorities lie? Are you focused on prestige and wealth and privilege? Or are you focused on doing what’s right, even if it means losing everything you hold dear?Sometimes, like in Vashti’s case, right and wrong isn’t always obvious. Vashti didn’t have the advantage of being able to turn to God for wisdom. She didn’t know Him, but we do. In the upcoming days we will be faced with difficult moral issues and may not have a clue which is the right thing to do. When that happens, remember, while it may not be obvious to you, it is to Him. So give it to God, and let Him direct your paths. And if you have to make a difficult decision to do the right thing, and it looks like you’re going to lose all that’s dear, remember, He is all we need. Vashti: Villian, Victor, or Victim?

When you have a problem, who do you turn to? Who do you go to for spiritual wisdom? Why do you go to that particular person?In today’s episode of All God’s Women we look at Huldah, a prophetess who was sought out by a king for her wisdom and insight. As I read about all the corruption in the days of Josiah and Huldah, it sounds, unfortunately, all too familiar. Doesn’t the world of their day sound an awful lot like today? Have we not lost sight of God’s law? Have we not filled our churches with traditions and practices from the world? Do we not have high places that we call spiritual, but that are far removed from true godly worship?  Are we not sacrificing our sons and daughters? Do we not have church leaders who are corrupt and leading their congregations astray? In a world where God’s people have lost sight of Him, where do we stand? If a young leader today was seeking after God and searching for someone to speak truth and wisdom, would your name come to their mind? Women of Christmas Crosscast Episode Trailer

How old is too old to serve God? At what point do you decide it’s time to let the young people do the serving? How do you plan to spend your final days?In today’s episode of All God’s Women we continue the Women of Christmas series with Anna, a elderly widow, a prophetess, and an evangelist.We meet Anna in Luke chapter 2. Her story is told in just three verses, but wow! What a lot of information is included in those three verses. In Luke 2:36 we learn that Anna was a prophetess of the tribe of Asher. We also learn that she was of a great age. She had lived with a husband seven years and was a widow of about eighty-four years. Depending on how you interpret that, she could have been eighty-four years old. Or, she could have ben eighty-four plus seven plus however old she was before she got married. In other words, over one hundred. However you interpret it, she was no spring chicken. Women of Christmas - Mary

In today’s episode of All God’s Women we kick off the Women of Christmas series with Elizabeth, wife of Zechariah, mother of John the Baptist, and cousin of Mary. Elizabeth had every reason to feel like the best years of her life were long gone, but God, in His infinite goodness, saved the best for last. We can learn so much from Elizabeth’s story as she went through many experiences that we, too, go through. We can easily feel too old to be used. We can question God, wondering why He won’t answer our prayers. Hopefully, though, we can be like Elizabeth and continue praying even though the world would tell us that it’s a hopeless cause.We can gain hope and encouragement from the way that God miraculously allowed a feeble woman to give birth to a mighty son. We can be challenged in our role as older woman to be there for younger women when they need us, and to treat them with dignity and respect despite their youth. And lastly, we can be reminded of how important it is to rejoice with those around us. When others are blessed by God, may we celebrate with them rather than being envious or jealous. Women of Christmas - Elizabeth

Hi and welcome to All God’s Women. I’m Sharon Wilharm, your host, and today is the last of the National Podcast Post Month bonus episodes. Yes, I know, it’s only the 28th. However, my photographer daughter and I did some creative brainstorming this week while they were visiting for Thanksgiving, and I’m excited to announce that All God’s Women is getting a facelift. So I’ll be working on that getting ready to have the new look in time for the Women of Christmas series launching Wednesday, December 2.Now, the podcast itself will remain the same. But the graphics will have a completely new look. And I am so excited about that. You see, I had this original vision for the podcast logo and graphics, but I couldn’t bring it to life. So I stumbled upon the yellow photo and ran with that. And I know a lot of you love the yellow. But I promise, you’re going to love the new look even better. It so much better expresses who I am an the message I’m sharing. So be watching for that in a few days.In the meantime let’s time a few moments to look at one verse in Isaiah that leads into the Women of Christmas series. The verse is found in Isaiah 7:14. Perhaps you’re familiar with it. It’s mentioned often in Christmas pageants.

Thanksgiving Bonus Episode

Have you ever saved a life before? Have you ever made a split second decision that had a permanent impact on someone else’s life? Would you, if you could?In today’s episode of All God’s Women we look at Jehosheba, a woman who saw senseless murders happening right before her eyes, and found a way to save the life of an innocent baby.We meet Jehosheba in 2 Kings chapter 11. Her story intersects with Athaliah and Zibiah. So let’s first get clear on how everyone is related. Jehosheba was the daughter of King Johoram, Athaliah’s husband, but Jehosheba’s mother was a lesser wife. Jehosheba was the half-sister of Ahaziah, Zibiah’s husband. Ahaziah was the son of Athaliah and the father of Joash. So now, who was Jehosheba? Not only was she a princess, the daughter of King Johoram, but she was the wife of the high priest, Jehoiada. Got it? Yeah, I know. You pretty much need to draw out a family tree to keep up with all the kings and queens and their relatives. Jehosheba - A Woman of Courage and Character

The psalm is a poetic praise. David opens by blessing the Lord and going through attributes of God. He talks about God’s power and all He does for His people. I challenge you to take a moment and read Psalm 144 in full. It’s only 15 verses, so it won’t take long. But it’s a beautiful tribute to the Lord and a reminder of who we are in Him.
