Card 53 Comedy | Brad Johnson | ep 19 - Kiepersol Texas Podcast Today we are joined by Brad Johnson who does improv comedy in Tyler, Texas! Card 53 Comedy has been around for 10 years now, playing shows in East Texas. You can find them playing at Liberty Hall and they are sponsored by True Vine Brewing Company! These 90-minute shows are well worth attending on multiple occasions, because no two shows are exactly the same. Everything is off the cuff, each show, including multiple shows that happen on the same day! It's fun seeing local businesses collaborating and making Visit Tyler Texas a destination spot! Jamey Whitley, Aaron Keith Smith, Brad Johnson, RJ Norman, Erfan Vafaie are the improv comedians and they are supported by rotating keyboard players Austin Day or Charles Praytor. Card 53 Comedy is a suggestion based show, where audience members fill out cards before the show with different categories or unlikely scenarios that each of the comedian's act or play out. i.g. "Write down a name of a movie that has never been made." Brad was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. Went to school in Florida, but decided to move back home because he loves this community! In 2010, Brad joined the team of comedians during their second year in doing their event. Brad's first show, he wasn't even planning on being on stage, just attending the event to support his friend, Jamey Whitley. Jamey called Brad on stage and said, "No man, you're playing with us!" Then the rest is history, Brad was a part of the team. Brad wants to perform every day doing Improv Comedy, he is passionate about it.
