Miscellaneous

My next guest came to Iowa from Mt. Vernon South Dakota. While where he was a three-time South Dakota All-state performer, earning first team honors as a junior and senior and third team honors as a sophomore. He was named Gatorade Football Player of the Year as a senior in 2001. also Argus Leader and Sports Max Player of the Year. He also earned first team All-conference honors for three straight seasons, as well as MVP honors. He played quarterback and free safety and returned punts and kickoffs, helping Mt. Vernon win two consecutive state titles as a junior and senior. Not to mention letters in track and basketball. I for one am thankful he chose Iowa. He started playing in 2002 seeing reps mainly on special teams and special packages. In 2003 he stared at weak side linebacker and never looked back collecting numerous accolades such as all conference and 1st team All American. He was taken in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft #17 overall to the Minnesota Vikings and Chad went on to amass 1,100 tackles 18 sacks 8 forced fumbles 11 recoveries, 11 picks and 2 Touch Downs not to mention being a 2 time pro bowler, an all-pro, Whizzer White Man of the Year & he led the entire NFC in tackles in 2010.
