EVERYBODY'S GOT A STORY

Society & Culture

My interviewee didn't show up today, but I still wanted to have a conversation around the subject matter which is; Mother Wounds, Grooming, Physical/Verbal/Emotional Abuse, Rape/Molestation. Mommy and Daddy wounds is a real thing, and can affect how a child grows up and handle their future relationships. An absent mom or dad can have an adult child viewing abandonment issues as normal, and being comfortable with accepting toxic behavior. Grooming is a predatory act in which an outsider and in most cases a family member or close friend, will prepare the child for future sexual abuse by introducing the child to pornography, excessively hugging, kissing and touching the child, and telling the child to keep secrets. It deeply saddens me that there are people who prey on little children, simply because they're vulnerable and fragile. What one gets out of hurting little kids I'll never know, but I do know that more parents need to have conversations with their kids about their body parts and what isn't acceptable. Kids need to understand that it isn't okay for someone (even a family member or friend) to touch them in certain ways, or take pictures of them when they're naked, or be so touchy feely to the point it's uncomfortable.  The advice from professionals is to always have these discussions with your kids, so they can tell you what's happening to them and how it made them feel.  If anyone wants to join the Human Collaboration Project, to share your story and give voice to the voiceless, please email me at info@honeychildscafe.com and I'll send you a questionaire.
