In this episode, Coach Lennie Acuff takes us on a journey through a lifetime of leadership lessons and all he’s learned along the way. Coach Acuff was long known as the best college basketball coach not yet at a division one program until he took over the reins at Lipscomb University last spring. In this interview Coach Acuff shares not only about the lessons learned as the youngest college head basketball coach in America when he started at the tender age of 25.  But he also shares wisdom on things like, how to get the most out of your teams and staff by supporting them to be their best selves, how to know when to navigate away from the herd to differentiate your program for success, Christian principles of leadership, how he leads his team during this time of social distancing and how he’ll prepare for next season. Lastly, he shares tips on fundraising as the leader of an entity and how to make authentic relationships. This episode is full of insights from a fantastic coach who labored 22 years building one of the best division II programs in his home town before stepping into big change and big shoes at Lipscomb.
