Host: Lee Philip Shulman, MD, FACOG, FACMG Guest: Sheryl A. Kingsberg, PhD Guest: David J. Portman, MD The underdiagnosis and undermanagement of hypoactive sexual desire disorder is in large part due to clinicians’ reluctance to raise issues of sexual health and functioning in their female patients, in addition to a lack of awareness of diagnostic screeners available and evolving therapeutic approaches. To help close these gaps in care, this discussion will identify the symptoms of HSDD and the barriers clinicians face that inhibit the appropriate diagnosis and management of this condition. The faculty will also identify the screening tools that allow for accurate diagnosis of HSDD as well as the therapeutic modalities currently available and under clinical development to manage HSDD, including their benefits and potential side effects.
