Kerry Carter helps lead Atavus Football’s mission to provide modern, effective tackling solutions to coaches at all levels of football, from youth to the NFL. Kerry brings a unique perspective to youth sports as a former professional and collegiate athlete, entrepreneur and father of two young girls. Sports have played a critical role in Kerry’s life, providing physical and mental benefits and opportunities that he credits for his success. From 2003 to 2007, Kerry played in the NFL as a running back and special teams player for the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins. He then went on to win two Canadian Football League Grey Cup titles in 2009 and 2010 as a key member of the Montreal Alouettes. As an active member of the NFL’s alumni group, Kerry remains well connected to his peers and coaches in professional football. Prior to being a professional athlete, Kerry was a student-athlete at Stanford University graduating in 2003 with a degree in Medical Anthropology. As a four-year letter winning running back on the Stanford Football team Kerry concluded his career #7 on Stanford's career rushing list with 2,039 yards, ranked 4th in career rushing touchdowns (23) and 7th in career touchdowns (25). He led the team in rushing as a sophomore in 2000 and a senior in 2002. Kerry is active in his Seattle community, serving on the board of Juma Ventures – and organization seeking to break the cycle of poverty by paving the way to work, education, and financial capability for youth across America.
