The government said families can gather in three-household groups of any size over Christmas, which are being called “Christmas bubbles.” People can travel freely from December 23 to 27 no matter what local tier of restrictions they live in. The states with the lowest reproduction rate are South Dakota, Iowa, Mississippi, Illinois, and North Dakota.There’ve been a total 259,874 deaths in the US reported as COVID-related, with a current national fatality rate of 2.1%.The states with the most new deaths reported as COVID-related: Texas 195. Michigan 154. Illinois 150. Missouri 138. California 107. Wisconsin 104. Indiana 103. Ohio 98. Pennsylvania 84. And Florida 74. Globally, there are over 17 million active cases, at 17,135,218.There are 528,385 new cases around the world in the last 24 hours against a high of 656,099 on November 12.
