Dave Chappelle: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain PrizeThis special aired on PBS earlier this month and it showcased the ceremony honoring Dave Chappelle who was the 2019 recipient of The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize.The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor has been presented by the Kennedy Center annually since 1998. And it’s not in the typical fashion you would expect a comedian to do so; it’s very thought provoking and intelligent. What are your thoughts on how he’s done this during his career and is there anything specific that sticks out to you most?Lorne Michaels, who is the producer of SNL, spoke during the ceremony and he said he specifically chose Dave Chapelle to host the show immediately following the 2016 election.
