We are encouraged to examine the attitude of our hearts towards God in the way we respond to personal patterns of sin by studying King David, who knew the law yet acted unaware of the sinfulness of his actions, when he despised the word of the Lord in the rape of Bathsheba and murder of Uriah. We are reminded that even awareness of our sin is a gift from God.
