This week our intrepid and insightful rock scribes Mick and Joel look at the brief but brilliant life of Randy Rhoads, one-time guitarist with Quiet Riot. But more famously, Randy was Ozzy Osbourne's right-hand man following his departure from Black Sabbath. Along with Sharon Arden (later Mrs Osbourne), Randy was absolutely fundamental in resurrecting Ozzy's moribund career. And though Randy was heavily inspired by Mick Ronson's style, his guitar playing was utterly unique, but soon slavishly emulated by a generation of players. But all was not to last long, and within just two years upon the world's stage, Randy was killed when a senseless prank went wrong. But what a talent, and what a legacy.
