Gavin III, MD, PhD, clinical professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Together they will explore the trends in the growth of diabetes in African Americans, the policies needed to address these problems, and some of the barriers that prevent better outcomes in diabetes care for African Americans and other high-risk minorities. James R. Gavin III, MD AND PHD, clinical professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Gavin serves as CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Healing Our Village, Inc. He also belongs to a number of organizations, including the Institute of Medicine, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Society of Clinical Investigation, the American Association of Physicians, and the Atlanta Rotary Club.
