The heroes of old mentioned in chapter 11, were ordinary men and women, just like us, but they dared to take God at His word. By faith, they were able to do extraordinary things and endure extraordinary suffering. Their lives serve as an inspiration and example to us all, but the writer doesn’t give us our greatest inspiration and example, until now, in Chapter 12.
