Dr. Anisha Abrahamis a pediatrician and teen health specialist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She was born to immigrant Indian parents and raised in Delaware, USA. She describes what it was like growing up as a minority and establishing her identity, taking pride in her cultural heritage while being raised in America. Shortly after meeting and marrying her German husband, Anisha along with their two very young children moved to Hong Kong for work. Their five years there were very impactful to Dr. Abrham’s development both professionally and personally. She talks about the impact of this experience and how it led to her interest in working specifically with global families. Dr. Abraham’s family then moved to Amsterdam where they now reside. The second half of the interview is a discussion about this historic time of lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, and what teenagers can do to not only cope, but to thrive.
