Listen to the Sermon • Escuche el SermónTodos sabemos que Dios no favorece a nadie por la simple razón que sea rico, de buen parecer, nacionalidad, o por su inteligencia. Dios no basa Su amor en ningún factor externo. Él no juzga según las características que los seres humanos miramos, tales como la belleza o la posición social. Y desde este punto de vista, Dios no tiene favoritismos. Dios demostró esto cuando seleccionó al rey David. Cuando el Señor envió al profeta Samuel a la casa de Isaí para ungir al próximo rey de Israel, el profeta vio a Eliab, el hermano mayor de David y pensó que seguramente éste era el hombre que Dios había escogido para guiar a Su pueblo Israel. Eliab era alto, de buen parecer y según el profeta Samuel, sería un buen rey. No obstante, Dios le dijo algo muy importante, “no te dejes impresionar por su apariencia, ni por su estatura, pues Yo lo he rechazado. La gente se fija en las apariencias, pero Yo me fijo en el corazón”. • We all know that God does not favor anyone for the simple reason they are rich, good looking, their nationality, or their intelligence. God does not base His love in any external factor. He does not judge according to the characteristics that people look at, such as beauty or social status. From this point of view, God has no favorites. God demonstrated his love when he chose the King David. When the Lord sent the prophet Samuel to the house of Jesse to anoint the next king of Israel, the prophet saw Eliab, David's older brother and thought that surely this was the man God had chosen to guide His people Israel. Eliab was tall, good looking and as the prophet Samuel, would be a good king. However, God said something very important, "do not be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.
