From The Hive

Religion & Spirituality

From the Hive is a contemplative space where meditative practice meets mindful everyday living. Each episode has two parts, a conversation and a guided mediation. We are connecting you to various contemplative teachers, hearing their story, and sharing a meditative practice with them. If you don’t have time now to listen to everything, feel free to skip ahead to 25:40 where the meditation begins and then come back later to the conversation. Maia Duerr (maiaduerr.com) is a cultural anthropologist, writer and longtime meditation practitioner. Maia is a business consultant and a Buddhist, who practices in the Soto Zen lineage of Suzuki Roshi. Troy first encountered her through her work with the Tree of Contemplative Practices (see image attached or contemplativemind.org/practices/tree), which is discussed in the interview. She lives at the intersection of entrepreneurship and awareness. Check out her newest book, Work That Matters at any major book retailer. Troy Bronsink is the founder and director of The Hive - A Center for Contemplation, Art & Action. The Hive is a nonprofit located in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati. Our secret sauce is outfitting people to take up a daily practice through 6-8 week peer to peer groups, through events with luminaries in the Arts, Yoga, Community, Spirituality and more. Check out our website at www.cincyhive.org for more info on how to get involved. The music is by Troy Bronsink. From the Hive is produced by Joey Taylor.
