THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS This Week’s Discussion: The House takes a historic vote to impeach the President of the United States for only the third time in history. The impact of the moment, however, is seriously undermined by a criminal political organization, the GOP, whose members regard the US Constitution and US laws as inapplicable to themselves. Republican determination to turn the effort to preserve the US Constitution into a theater of the absurd prevents the House from even forwarding the Articles of Impeachment to a criminal Senate masterminded by Moscow Mitch. How does America survive this? (Sorry, we don't answer that question, we just ask it.) Also, the latest on false equivalences from the paper of record show why saving America is so likely to be a losing proposition; we continue to reward criminals and liars by failing to note what they are, and how they are different from those who believe in rules, accountability...and truth.
