Adam McKay and Charles Randolph won the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay for "The Big Short". The film was an incredibly accurate portrayal of the events leading to the Global Financial Crisis. However, the film glosses over the Synthetic CDO - the financial instrument that made the housing bubble a global economic crisis. Andrew and Blake take a deep dive in trying to explain how the synthetic CDO worked and how it magnified the housing bubble.
