Bet You Wish This Was An Art Podcast

Arts

So, when we sat down to record this episode last Tuesday, we thought we were being clever and productive with our time. These two art history nerds from the past could not have imagined that the same week they were going to record an episode about Propaganda there would be an attempted coup on the U.S Capitol building. The whole Trump Train Propaganda Machine was right there! And we didn't acknowledge it! Because we thought it would be kicking a dead horse. Instead, armed insurrectionists stormed the Capitol during the middle of a global pandemic. Anyways.  Find out how the US should get an honorary doctorate for being a propaganda machine; listen to two babies—oblivious of time and impending terrorism—talk about war and liberty; contemplate how aesthetic choices impact the subconscious better than we could have ever imagined; and, learn about the various symbols that have been used for hope and oppression for decades.   Things have changed, but we're changing with it.
