So you have probably heard the term social anxiety but do you know what it means. Often people struggle with SAD for years before they even realize what is going on. It may look like saying "no" to going out on situations you may not have any control in. It can look different for many. Social anxiety is the fear of social situations that involve interaction with other people. You could say social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people. Today, we chat with Dr. Brad Imhoff where he shares his personal struggles with social anxiety and helps us learn more about this topic. Dr. Brad Imhoff earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from Ohio University and is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Counseling for Liberty University Online. His clinical work has largely focused on addiction treatment, specifically helping those consumed by the opioid addiction epidemic. Even so, having struggled with social anxiety during much of his life, this topic became a passion and primary scholarly interest of his.
