In 2016, Mia Self's play TEA WITH AGATHA premiered during https://theatre.arts.ncsu.edu/ (NC State University Theatre's) TheatreFest. Sadly, TheatreFest this summer has been canceled, however, NC State's University Theatre has announced its season for next year. Celebrate the centennial anniversary of Agatha Christie's first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, and all things TheatreFest, by listening to a reading of Self's play, TEA WITH AGATHA, followed by a virtual talkback with Self and Gus Allen Sunday evening, April 19th at 7 pm on Facebook Live. About the Guests Mia Self (Playwright and Agatha) is the Assistant Director of Acting, Directing, and Academics at NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has an MFA from the University of Mississippi and a BA from Catawba College with an emphasis in performance and directing. Mia works as a director, actor, voice and text coach in addition to her periodic jaunts into writing and devising. Tea with Agatha was written to celebrate the 2016 TheatreFEST season devoted to Agatha Christie. She’s slated to direct Small Mouth Sounds with Honest Pint at the end of summer and Almost, Maine at NC State at the top of the fall semester. Gus Allen, originally from Minnesota, has acted in over 50 productions across the Triangle as has written and directed for several others. Gus has been a lifelong Agatha Christie fan, always leaping at the chance to act in her plays. So far he's gotten to be in six of them and will continue to do as many as possible. Gus was an avid reader Christie novels and Sherlock Holmes stories as a teenager and considers himself lucky to bring life to those same characters on stage years later.
